The Palos Improvement Club was the beginning of today's beautiful Village Hall and Municipal Complex in Palos Hills, Illinois.  Incorporated in 1914, Palos Park was originally a farming community in the 1800's which has continued to frow up and thrive with a current population of nearly 5,000 residents.  

A quaint town southwest of Chicago, Palos Park strives to maintain its' turn of the century charm.  Originally, the name of the town was Trenton, up until 1850 when it became "Palos" at the recommendation of M.S. Powell, the 1st Postmaster.  

Surrounded by Forest Preserves on three sides, one can discover pletiful bridle paths and foot trails inhabited by deer, small mammals, and countless varieties of birds.  In Spring, there are many events taking place in Palos Park including Rid Litter Day in April and the Southwest Half Marathon in May.  

Families can enjoy the Spring Fun Run in May in addition to the Village Arbor Day Celebration in May.  There are activities for all, including architectural tours and Palos Senior Club events, among many other enjoyable activities.  Families can also enjoy Fall and Winter in Palos Park.  There are opportunities for Cook County Forest Preserve sledding and coasting, cross country skiing, along with biking and hiking.  The Village of Palos Park offers something for everyone.
